TRANSLATION ASSISTANCE
While we do offer translation assistance in the library on a limited, by appointment only, basis (see above). If you need a quick translation, visit Google Translate and do a Dutch to English translation or check out our list of "Old Flemish Words," that have fallen out of fashion, but you might encounter in your research of older documents.
GSFA is proud to be the largest library of Flemish genealogy records outside of Belgium. Please come by and take a look around or ask questions. We also have a museum of interesting traditional cultural pieces, as well as books, shirts and many other items for sale.
MATERIALS IN OUR REFERENCE LIBRARY
The GSFA Library is a vast and excellent source of Flemish family information and is the home to Family Histories; Histories of Belgian Towns,VVF- Vlaamse Stam; Exchange Publications; Microfilms of Newspapers; Census Records For Many Towns in Belgium; Belgium Laces; Over 13,000 funeral memorial cards of US, Canada, and Belgium; Over 6000 copies of Bereavement letters from Belgium, Photos and much, much more.
